The Austrian artist Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) made art in the Art Nouveau style (Wiener werkstätte). This sculpture is based on "The Kiss" (1907) and it expresses the psychological emotion of love. The lovers seem to be separated from the world in a typical Jugendstil manner. An impression which is strengthened by the use of gold-colours.
