Spring flowers

16 March 2026 10:00
Astronomical spring begins on 20 March. Day and night will then be of equal length. After that, the days will start to get longer again. The trees will turn greener and many plants will come into bloom once more. At Art Deco Webshop, you can already get a taste of spring!

The light-up flowers in the Coloured by Art© collection are available for a wide range of light fittings. We have highlighted the typical spring-flowering varieties for you.

Fleur de vanneau

The wild lapwing flower is a rare bulbous plant. It takes the plant eight years to come into bloom. The flower shape resembles a tulip, which is why the plant is sometimes called the Zwolle tulip. After all, it is in this provincial capital that the flower is most commonly found.

The reddish-purple Tiffany calyx is stylised and attractive. The light fixture can be fitted to all sorts of light fittings. For instance, the shade fits a wall-mounted fixture, whether facing upwards or downwards. But the lapwing flower is also fantastic as a ceiling light and table lamp. And let’s not forget as a floor lamp!

Narcissus

A true harbinger of spring! Daffodils are the quintessential spring bulbs. They require a period of cold dormancy. Lower temperatures are also better for the bulb itself. The flower within the bulb remains, as it were, tucked away in its little nest thanks to the cold. As it warms up in spring, the flower shoots upwards and you get an explosion of colour.

The blossoming Tiffany flower is finished in golden yellow, which makes everyone happy. Seemingly a simple flower? No, absolutely not... The daffodil is very vain, for at the heart of the calyx, the flower lamp reveals an orange ‘trumpet’. The light source is so lovingly enclosed, and the light is beautifully filtered as well.

Tulipa

Tulips need a cold night and a cold winter to grow, which means they cannot be cultivated in a warm climate. That is why tulip bulbs are planted in the autumn (October and November). The flowering period runs from April to June.

The Tulipa really shows just how charming a tulip can be! The flower has just opened, revealing translucent shades of red with hints of yellow and green, like a watercolour painting.

The Tiffany flower has delicate, organic shapes, making it easy to fall in love with this Dutch icon.
