The Amsterdam School art movement enjoyed its heyday in the 1920s. This innovative art movement manifested itself between approximately 1910 and 1940. Dutch Art Deco had and still has international appeal! A recurring element within the "Amsterdamse School" style is the parabolic shape.
Royal Theatre Tuschinski
Royal Theatre Tuschinski (also known as Pathé Tuschinski) is a cinema with six screens on Reguliersbreestraat in Amsterdam. The theatre was commissioned by Abraham Tuschinski and opened on 28 October 1921. The building was designed by architect Hijman Louis de Jong.
The Amsterdam School style in which the theatre was built is a unique form of Art Deco in which Art Nouveau motifs can also be recognised. The towers were completed with parabolas that shoot up like rockets. The cinema is world-famous and was named the most beautiful cinema in the world by Time Out (a magazine distributed worldwide) in 2021!

At Art Deco Webstore, you will find spectacular furniture, jewellery, lamps and home accessories in the Amsterdam School style. This makes it easy to incorporate the Amsterdam School feel into your interior. There are numerous products whose design is based on the parabolic shape. Such as cushions made from luxurious fabric with a parabolic motif. Ideal for adding comfort to your sofa or armchair. Available in a chic red shade with gold-coloured details and finished with black leather piping.
True eye-catchers
The unusual shapes of both Tiffany and Art Deco lighting make the lamps true eye-catchers. The glass of the Parabola series, for example, is heated and curved in the oven. This creates a beautiful flowing shape! Together with the warm shades of mother-of-pearl, cream and brown (with a hint of deep purple), this forms a beautiful combination. But the parabolic shape also makes an impression in opal white. All the more so in contrast with a black patinated fixture.

If you love vintage style, Art Deco Webstore is definitely the place for you!
