The Coloured by Art© Tuschinski lamps from Art Deco Trade

In 2021, the six-screen cinema in Amsterdam's Reguliersbreestraat was named the most beautiful cinema in the world by Time Out (magazine distributed worldwide)!

Theatre Tuschinski was built in the Amsterdam School style, a quirky form of Art Deco in which Art Nouveau motifs can also be recognised.

The building was designed by architect Hijman Louis de Jong. The theatre was commissioned by Abraham Tuschinski and opened on 28 October 1921.

Given the fascination with the Tuschinki Theatre, Art Deco Trade and its team manufactured beautiful Tiffany lamps to their own design, using the Amsterdam School as inspiration.

Characteristic of the Amsterdam School is the use of expressive and fantastic forms, akin to expressionism.
