Art Nouveau Vase Twist

Eye-catching colors, flowing and fickle forms; an eccentric glass object! The main color is inclined towards the famous shade Samian Red.

The vase was ingeniously blown by the American glass artist Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933).

This kind of glass is called "Favrile glass".
Favrile is different from other iridescent glasses because the color is not only on the surface, but also in the glass. The original trade name, Fabrile, was derived from an old English word, which means 'hand made'. Tiffany changed the word later to Favrile, he thought this sounded better.
