Art Nouveau Box Birds

Very decorative box of ceramics with gorgeous Art Deco design. The earth pigments green and yellow ochre are characteristic colours of the Art Nouveau style. The travellers are sitting majestically at the waterside. The refined artwork is completed by the whiplash styled gingko leaves. Finished with a decorative, bronze button and a bronze, decorative border on the lid.

Inspired on the original design of delftware factory Haga at Purmerend, the Netherlands. Famous ceramists such as Bert Nienhuis (1873-1960), Chris Lanooy (1881-1948) and Chris van der Hoef (1875-1933) have worked for Haga.
