Bakelite is the first plastic made from synthetic components invented by the Belgian Leo Hendrik Baekeland (1863-1944).
On December 7, 1909, Baekeland received a patent for Bakelite.
Bakelite is characterized by the typical enamelled color scheme and a pleasantly warm surface.
