Woven decoration based on: Die Erfüllung or "The Fulfilment". It was designed by Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918) for the frieze in the dining room of Stoclet Palace in Brussel. He created this work of art in 1905-1909. The original is currently at "Das Österreichische Museum für angewandte Kunst" (The Austrian Museum for Applied Arts) in Vienna.
The man and woman seem to be totally intertwined with one another. They are almost lost in the painting because of the way their cloths blend into the ornamental motifs in the background. The clothing is abundantly decorated with ovals, squares, birds and fish.
The gold thread (in combination with a spicy red) has an extremely luxurious sparkling effect on this tapestry! The piece will also look fantastic in the evening by artificial light or candlelight!
