This subtle woven tapestry has bright warm colours. The artwork is based on the original (which was made in 1892) by Paul Gauguin (1848-1903). This artist had a post-impressionistic style.
Paul Gauguin spent a fair amount of years on Tahiti and, during his time there, he became famous for his lovely use of colour, the mysterious titles of his paintings and the penetrating gazes of the Polynesian women he liked to paint.
